One year of Proximus NXT:
A conversation with
Anne-Sophie Lotgering

A year ago, Proximus NXT was launched with a commitment to make a difference in the IT landscape in the Benelux. By combining all IT expertise, Proximus NXT developed an ecosystem showcasing substantial IT capabilities and a broad partner network, going beyond its well-known telco DNA. Reflecting on this journey, we spoke with Anne-Sophie Lotgering, CEO Proximus NXT IT and Corporate Segment lead, about the key achievements and future priorities.

Proximus NXT brings value to its customers, tell us more about it?

Anne-Sophie Lotgering: "Proximus NXT ensures that the right expertise is available exactly when needed, integrating both telecom and IT and facilitating a faster time to market. What sets us apart is our ability to leverage our scale and expertise through a strong network of experts and partners, boosting value through collaboration. The post-COVID landscape has accelerated the digital revolution, driving  businesses to ask, ‘How can I be more digital and scalable?’ That’s where we step in, offering cloud and security solutions, data strategies, and AI-driven insights to help them navigate their challenges as they have become more critical than ever before."

We focus on growth and collaboration, creating an environment that emphasizes consultancy and expertise to serve our customers better.

What are the major milestones Proximus NXT has reached since its launch last year?

Anne-Sophie Lotgering: "We've been very busy with multiple projects, making it difficult to single out just a few examples as there have been many milestones. However, I would like to highlight four main accomplishments:

  1. Our strategic partnerships with Microsoft and Google for Sovereign Cloud set a new benchmark in cloud innovation, not only in the Benelux, but even worldwide we are renowned for the decisions and strategy we decided to implement.
  2. In terms of connectivity, Proximus NXT has made significant stride with the implementation of the first private 5G network on a hospital campus at AZ Groeninge. This innovation prepares the healthcare sector for the future, emphasizing remote and secure collaboration across various departments to ensure that both patients and end-users benefit from cutting-edge technology.
  1. We hosted the first edition of Think NXT at Tour & Taxis creating a platform that brought together thought leaders, customers, partners, and experts from across the industry. Over 1,300 IT professionals attended the event, drawing inspiration from keynotes, customer testimonials and demos while exploring what’s next in technology.
  2. And last but not least, within our own organization, we have recently united our IT resources into a new affiliate, solidifying our role as a dedicated IT service provider in the Benelux."

What are the main areas of growth that Proximus NXT is focusing on, and why are they important?

Anne-Sophie Lotgering: "Proximus NXT is prioritizing growth in three main domains:

  1. Cloud

We help businesses develop hybrid cloud strategies tailored to their specific needs, whether through public, private, or sovereign cloud solutions. This flexibility allows companies to scale efficiently, reduce costs, and improve their overall IT infrastructure.

  2. Security

Our fifth annual cybersecurity reportNew window revealed that one in three companies in Belgium and Luxembourg faced at least one cybersecurity incident in 2023. Many businesses lack the expertise to protect themselves, which is where we come in. We provide robust security solutions to safeguard their operations and data.

  3. Data & AI

We assist organizations in harnessing the power of data and AI to drive growth and innovation. By partnering with experts like Codit and Proximus ADA, we offer cutting-edge capabilities that help businesses make informed decisions and stay competitive.

These areas are crucial as they tackle the most urgent challenges our customers face today, equipping them to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape."

Can you share an exciting Proximus NXT initiative on the horizon with us?

Anne-Sophie Lotgering: "I am very thrilled to announce our upcoming edition of Think NXT on 28 November at Nekkerhal! This event will be an extraordinary experience, offering tailor-made content that's relevant to every niche and industry. But it is not just about learning; it's about networking, sparking new ideas, and seeing firsthand how innovative solutions can drive businesses forward. Attending Think NXT is a must for anyone looking to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving IT landscape and I kindly invite all IT professionals to be part of it!"

Looking ahead to 2025, what do you hope to achieve?

Anne-Sophie Lotgering: "I truly hope our customers notice a difference in the way we engage with them, the expertise we bring to the table, and our ability to deeply understand their business challenges. Additionally, it would be a great achievement if our employees feel empowered and have opportunities to grow their knowledge and expertise while working on exciting projects. This vision is at the heart of Proximus NXT: providing the tools, solutions, and support needed to drive innovation and agility, creating a positive and impactful experience for everyone, shaping a bright future, and continuing to grow together."
